The short version
We collect what you type into our contact form, and that's essentially it. We don't sell it, we don't share it, we don't run advertising trackers, and this site sets no cookies at all — which is why you weren't asked to accept any.
What we collect
When you use the contact form
Your name, and any of the following you choose to give us: business name, phone number, email address, website address, the topic you selected, and your message. We also record the IP address the form was submitted from and the time, which is how we keep automated spam off it.
We use this to answer you. That's the entire purpose.
When you just read the site
Our web host keeps standard server logs — IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string. These are a normal part of running a web server and we don't build profiles from them.
There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel, no session recording and no chat widget on this website.
Cookies
This site sets none. Not for analytics, not for preferences, not for advertising.
If we called you
We contact small businesses about their websites. The phone numbers we use come from publicly listed business contact information — the number a business publishes so customers can reach it. We call businesses, not individuals at home.
If we've built a demo of your website, we hold your business name, your public contact details, your existing website address, and the demo we made. Demo links come down after about 24 hours.
How to make us stop
Say so, once, in any of these ways, and your number comes off the list permanently:
- Tell us on the phone — you don't need a reason
- Use the contact form and choose “please take my number off your list”
- Email hello@websitesfor500.com
We'll also delete the demo site we built, if you'd like us to.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We don't sell, rent, trade or otherwise pass on your information, and we don't use it to send you marketing you didn't ask for.
The unavoidable exceptions are the ordinary ones: our web host and our email provider necessarily process the data in order to run the server and deliver the mail, and we would disclose information if the law actually required it of us.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept while we're in touch with you and for a reasonable period after, so we have a record of what was discussed. Opt-out requests we keep indefinitely on purpose — that record is the only thing that stops you being called again.
Your choices
Ask us and we'll tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@websitesfor500.com or call (630) 931-2237. There's no form to fill in and no identity-verification process to survive; we'll just handle it.
Children
This is a business-to-business service and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this page changes we'll update the date at the top. We don't consider a quiet edit to be notice, so anything material will be obvious.
