Web design · Chicago area

Your website, rebuilt. And then actually looked after.

We're a small shop, and we're new. So we pick local businesses whose websites are costing them calls, rebuild one on spec, and show it to them. If you like it, it's yours.

The site $500 One time. Every site, no exceptions. Looked after $100/mo Optional. Cancel whenever.

How this works

We build it first. You decide second.

Nobody wants to pay a stranger to imagine a website. So we skip that part — the new one already exists before we ever pick up the phone.

We pick a few local sites

Small businesses around the Chicago area whose websites are slow, hard to use on a phone, or just old enough to be losing them work.

We rebuild one, unpaid

On spec, out of our own pocket, to build our portfolio. Real layout, real photography, a contact form that genuinely sends. Nothing to imagine.

You look, then you say

If it's not for you, that's a perfectly good answer and we'll leave you alone. If it is, it's $500 and it goes live on your own domain.

The work

Builds you can click through.

Both of these are sample builds. The businesses are invented on purpose — we wanted to show the work without putting a real company's name on a site they never asked for. Everything else is real: real layouts, real photography, forms that actually send.

Included

What the $500 actually covers.

No tiers, no upsell at the end, no "starting from". This is the whole site.

  • Built for a phone first, then widened
  • A contact form that actually sends
  • Loads in about a second
  • Your services, written up properly
  • Photography sourced and prepared
  • Click-to-call everywhere it matters
  • Search basics: titles, descriptions, structured data
  • Your service area and hours
  • Runs on your own domain
  • No page-builder subscription to inherit
The part nobody talks about

The $500 is the easy part. The next two years are the real one.

Small business websites almost never fail on launch day. They fail eighteen months later — the hours are wrong, the number changed, the winter special is still up in July, and nobody can remember who built it or how to get back in.

That's the actual problem. A site is not a thing you buy once; it's a thing that needs somebody to answer when it needs changing. So we made that the cheap, boring, obvious part.

$100/month
  • 5 minor updates a month. Text edits, a new photo, moving or removing a section, a new email address, a form tweak.
  • 1 major update a month. A whole new section, a new form, redesigning a component, adding something like booking.
  • You ask, we do it. You don't file a ticket and you don't learn a dashboard.
  • Cancel any month. No notice period, and the site stays yours regardless.

Optional, genuinely. Plenty of people will take the site and never need us again.

Straight answers

The questions we actually get asked.

You really already built mine?

Yes. That's the whole idea. We're new and we need a portfolio, so we picked a handful of local businesses and rebuilt their sites at our own expense before contacting anyone. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay to look at it.

The preview link stays up for 24 hours and then comes down. That isn't a pressure tactic — we just don't leave someone else's business name on a server indefinitely.

Why is it only $500? What's the catch?

Because we're building a portfolio and a reputation, and because the work genuinely takes us less time than it used to. We'd rather do a lot of honest $500 sites than a few $5,000 ones.

The catch, if you want to call it one, is that this is a website — not a marketing campaign, not an SEO retainer, not a brand strategy. If you need those, we're the wrong shop and we'll say so.

Who owns it once I've paid?

You do. It's your site, on your domain, and it's plain HTML rather than something locked inside a platform you have to keep paying for. If you ever want to take it elsewhere, you take the files and go, and we won't make that awkward.

Do I have to move my domain or my hosting?

Not necessarily — it depends on where things live right now. Sometimes it's a five-minute change, sometimes it's more involved. Tell us who you're with and we'll tell you honestly which one it is before you commit to anything.

Is the $100 a month required?

No. The $500 site is complete and yours whether or not you ever take the plan. The plan exists because most people would rather text someone than edit a website, and because a site nobody maintains quietly stops being true.

What if I'm not interested?

Then that's the end of it. Say no and we'll thank you for your time and go. If you'd like your number taken off our list entirely, ask on the phone or tell us here and it's done.
